DJCC Dallas Winspear Opera House Tour

The have been a member of the Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce for over six years now and we always do new and fun events. At this event we got a private tour of the Dallas Winspear Opera House in Dallas TX. Designed by Foster + Partners under Pritzker Prize-winning architect Norman Foster, the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House will be engineered specifically for performances of opera and musical theatre with its stages equipped for performances of ballet and other forms of dance.

We also walked across the street to the Dee And Charles Wyly Theater The Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre will be one of the world’s most innovative theatre facilities. The 12-level building will feature a groundbreaking design with an unprecedented “stacked,” vertically organized facility that completely rethinks the traditional form of theatre. The Wyly Theatre was designed by REX/OMA, Joshua Prince-Ramus (partner in charge) and Pritzker Prize-winning architect Rem Koolhaas.

DJCC Easter Egg Hunt for the Blind 2010

On March 27, 2010 approximately 75 DJCC members, community volunteers, visually-impaired children and their families attended one of the Dallas Jr. Chamber of Commerce (DJCC) signature, philanthropic events – The Easter Egg Hunt for the Blind.

This extraordinary, emotional event allows visually-impaired children to hunt for specially designed “beeping eggs”. With the assistance of DJCC volunteers, these very special children and their families also enjoyed face painting, piñatas and other family-oriented activities. The Easter Egg Hunt for the Blind benefits the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) Division for Blind Services (DBS)

Here are some pictures from the event. The rest of the pictures are HERE! !
